Photographs among the bluebells
It’s that time of year! Family photographers are coming out of hibernation and I am getting very excited at the prospect of spring flowers, sunshine and green leaves again. Are you ready to update your family photographs with a bluebell photo shoot in Hertfordshire? As your family photographer in Welwyn, Stevenage and Hitchin, I’m here for you!
What do we get?
You will receive a beautiful online gallery (password protected) with at least 12 digital images, ready for you to download, and a 6×8″ print.
How long is a bluebell photo shoot?
Mini shoots are 20 minutes long. You might be thinking… How will we get lots of beautiful photos of my wayward toddler/pesky puppy/grumpy teenager/reluctant husband in just 20 minutes. Well, I’m here to tell you that 20 minutes is PEFRECT. Short and sweet, and you’ll be surprised by how much playing, racing, jumping and fun that we can fit in – and capturing those beautiful candid moments all the while. In 20 minutes, no one has ‘had enough’.
How do you protect the flowers?
I am very fond of the woodland where I photograph my spring photo shoots. Therefore I am very careful not to trample or pick any bluebells, and I urge my client families to take the same care. I make a donation to the Woodland Trust for every session that I do, hopeful that our beautiful woodlands will be looked after for many, many years to come. However, I know that you (and I!) adore the photos where our children appear to be in the midst of the flowers, so I have a few tricks up my sleeve.
Firstly, I use the winding natural paths between the flowers, and a very long lens with a wide aperture. Without getting too technical, this means that there is a natural ‘compression’ that makes everything look a little closer together – and voila, you are amongst the flowers whilst still keeping them safe!
