It was a beautiful day to celebrate – and photograph – a christening in Stevenage. Having had the christening ceremony at St Mary’s in Hitchin, we moved over to The Cromwell hotel. The venue had been beautifully decorated, and the staff made sure everything ran well in a Covid-secure environment. My photography style is laid-back: I photograph the little moments that you might miss, as well as the traditional group and individual portraits. And I am very relaxed – I’m happy to stay inobtrusive and out of the way, or fetch you a drink! You can find out more about booking me as your Stevenage christening photographer here.

It had been such a long time since events like this were able to take place. The guests were delighted to be able to sit and have a drink and a good catch-up in the sunshine! I think that it must have been one of the hottest days of the year so far. The garden at The Cromwell is the perfect setting for this, with beautiful flowers and a gazebo.

However, the hot weather isn’t always great for babies, and the star of the show spent a lot of the reception having a well-earned nap! As is always the way, she woke up just in time for food to be served, and then delighted everyone with smiles and play.

The family had organised a stunning backdrop, which was perfect for group shots, and set off the theme wonderfully.

All in all, a fabulous day. I was so happy to be back to photographing christenings in Hitchin and Stevenage again. It has felt like such a long time, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
